WHAT IS “S.P.A.R.K.”?
S.P.A.R.K is a FREE mental wellness based camp for high school age teens 14-18 years old. Madi’s House professionals have designed a unique engagement opportunity for highschool teens focused on improving all facets of their mental well-being. The program addresses five critical qualities whose first letters conveniently spell “S.P.A.R.K”. Each day, one of these facets will be featured in that day’s mental wellness activities:
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Madi’s House Summer “SPARK” will provide two one-week “day-camp” sessions at Madi’s House in Mt Airy. Each session will be attended by 25 vetted and selected high school students who have been identified as most likely to benefit from this program. Activities designed by mental health professionals will fill five days with self-discovery and cultivation of mental wellness, emotional resilience, and life skills.
PROGRAM PURPOSE
Madi’s House Summer “SPARK” is a specialized program dedicated to empowering teens to ignite their potential, cultivate emotional resilience, and foster meaningful connections. Through a week of specially designed engaging activities, support, and self-discovery, our goal is to provide a program that promotes and develops strength and compassion in our participants, providing mental health tools and resources to help students feel confident in caring for their mental health.
APPROACH
High school students ages 14 to 18 – will be selected to attend Madi’s Summer SPARK every day, 9:00am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. This camp will be held at Madi’s House campus in Mount Airy, Cincinnati. Each week, the students will be divided into 4 teams of 6-8 students , with each team guided by local youth development facilitators called “SPARK Coaches”, including teachers, counselors, therapists, and other experienced mentors who will provide guidance and support, serving as that team’s “Coach” or “Guide”.

SAMPLE OF DAILY ACTIVITY SCHEDULE
Each day of each one-week program will include a detailed activity schedule. Each coach will receive training before the program begins on how to facilitate the planned activities with “teaching and coaching tips” for each activity. Small groups will consist of a SPARK coach and their ten students and a SPARK Guide. This structure and discussion will provide additional support, and students will be able to leave the SPARK program knowing what a positive support system feels like.
